Holding a BA in psychology and a Master’s in Counselling Psychology, Matthew integrates several therapeutic approaches into his eclectic counselling style. His therapeutic methods include modern modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), attachment theory, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), alongside mind-body practices like meditation, contemplation, and breathwork. Matthew addresses a broad spectrum of issues including emotional struggles (anger, depression, anxiety), relationship and communication challenges, addiction and habit change, stress and trauma, as well as matters of faith and spirituality. Rooted in the belief that psychotherapy should focus not only on recovery but also on growth, flourishing, and wisdom, Matthew, influenced by diverse philosophical and religious traditions, seeks to understand each individual’s unique story and uncover universal symbolic patterns within. In today’s era of material abundance and endless amusements, coupled with a pervasive sense of disconnect and malaise, Matthew advocates for an approach that merges the modern and the traditional. Recognizing the human quest for meaning and transcendence, he guides individuals and couples in their search for purpose, providing support in the pursuit of well-being and virtue cultivation.
